At The Chic Nail Lounge, the health, safety, and comfort of our clients and team members are our foremost priorities. This policy sets out the standards and practices we uphold to ensure every service is delivered in a clean, safe, and professional environment. Please read this policy carefully before your appointment.

Service Specific Safety Advisory

Russian Manicure (also known as the Dry or E-file/Hardware Manicure) is an advanced nail service that differs from traditional manicure techniques. Clients booking this service should be aware of the following

Use of Sharp Implements

Russian Manicure technique involves the use of precision electric drill bits and sharp cuticle tools to carefully remove excess skin and cuticle tissue from around the nail bed. This method requires close, detailed work in the cuticle area.

Expected Reactions

Mild redness, sensitivity, or irritation of the cuticle area is a normal and expected outcome of this service, particularly for first-time clients or those with sensitive skin.
In rare cases, minor nicks or small cuts to the skin surrounding the nail may occur, even when performed by a trained and experienced technician.
These reactions are temporary and typically resolve within 24 to 48 hours.

Sterilization & Hygiene Standards

All reusable implements (drill bits, metal tools, and instruments) are fully sterilized using medical-grade sterilization methods after each client, without exception.
All single-use items (files, buffers, disposable liners, and similar consumables) are discarded immediately following each guest's service and are never reused.

Our sanitation protocols meet and exceed the standards required by Ontario public health regulations for personal service settings.

RIGHT TO DECLINE OR DISCONTINUE SERVICE

Safety First — Conditions That May Affect Your Service

To maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene, we reserve the right to decline or discontinue any service if there is visible skin sensitivity, open wounds, irritated or damaged cuticles, active picking, or inflammation around the fingers or toes at the time of the appointment. These conditions may compromise the safety and quality of the service. We appreciate your understanding and recommend rescheduling once the area has fully healed.

This measure is taken entirely in the interest of your health and wellbeing, and is not a reflection of any judgment toward the client. Our technicians are trained to identify these conditions and will communicate any concerns with care and professionalism.

CLIENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND LIABILITY WAIVER

By booking an appointment with The Chic Nail Lounge whether online, in person, by telephone, by email, or through any other means of communication, the client acknowledges and agrees to the following:

The client has read, understood, and accepts the terms set out in this Health & Safety Policy.
The client is aware that Russian Manicure service involves the use of sharp implements in the cuticle area, and that mild irritation or, in rare cases, minor cuts may result.
The client acknowledges that all reusable implements are medically sterilized after each use, and that all single-use items are disposed of immediately following each appointment.
The client voluntarily consents to receive the requested services with full knowledge of the associated risks disclosed herein.
The client hereby releases The Chic Nail Lounge, its owners, employees, and technicians from any and all liability arising from minor irritation, redness, sensitivity, or in rare cases, superficial cuts leading to or not leading to an infection resulting from the performance of services, provided that proper sterilization and hygiene protocols have been followed.
The client further releases The Chic Nail Lounge from liability for infections or adverse reactions that may arise following a service, where the client has not disclosed a pre-existing skin condition, allergy, or contraindication, or where aftercare instructions provided by the technician have not been followed.

The act of booking an appointment — regardless of the channel used — constitutes the client's agreement to this policy in its entirety. No separate signature is required.

POLICY UPDATES

The Chic Nail Lounge reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time. The most current version will be available at our salon and on our booking platform. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
